Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th in 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The label released her first EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her songs online in 2012 when she released Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she dropped new music through the internet including Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. Later that year her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some references for Rihanna. The news was released on December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track was written by her and Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. On October 21, 2016 her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox performed on two tracks with EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. A music video then released in September. She released her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. On November 13 two new singles called No One and pedigree. She was featured with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16, and then made the track available as a single by herself to the album she released her debut. In February of 2019, the music video for the track was launched. It has had over three million YouTube views within a week. In December 2018, she performed as a supporting act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
